Hey Soul Sister

I'm so glad you have
A one track mind like me
You gave my life direction
A game show love connection
We can't deny

- Hey Soul Sister (Train)

To be true, to be you,
Is the best that we can do
With you in my life,
I am one of the Lucky few.

Love you Ritika and Srishti... The best Sisters God could have ever given anyone... :D

Love Like No Other

Love peeped through the window
And blushed by what it saw
Love tiptoed to hear closely
And heard a Melodious Rhythm

Love heard the doors open
And hid behind the curtains
Love heard footsteps come in
And was confused to the core

Love felt scared, what if it gets hurt?
But a part of Love wanted to be found.
Love was lost in it's own web of thoughts
When someone pulled it out

Love saw a beetle eyed boy
Staring at it with glee
The boy held it tight, afraid to let go
He went to the bed, and sat beside her

Love saw a Little girl fast asleep
The boy shook the girl to wake her up
He seemed excited, Love became anxious
She woke up and rubbed her eyes

Love saw in her eyes, the reflection of the boy
Was it a lake? A River? A Mirror?
Her eyes met his, and he took her hands
Love felt safe, between their two palms

It knew it instantly,
That it was a Love Like No Other

Wedding Photographer - Episode 1

Shreela Weds Akhil

This was my 1st ever Mallu Wedding. I had never attended one before. And here I was, ready with my camera, all set to shoot one!

The bride, Shreela, was initially pretty tensed. Her Bhabhi kept cheering her up as she was getting ready. Every time she would smile, our cameras would go up and click click click.... :D

At the venue of the wedding, she was welcomed with beautifully lit diyas and shehnais. The groom, Akhil, was so excited to get married. His joy reflected on his face. One look at him and Shreela forgot all her worries. :)

My first experience as an official Wedding Photographer with The Cheesecake Project was amazing. Capturing those precious moments gave me an immense sense of satisfaction. Looking at the couple, I told myself in my mind, "I want to be the Happy Bride just like her."

While wrapping up when Shreela was browsing through the photos, she exclaimed with joy and surprise, "Shit! I am married! No more sneaking around to meet each other!" That is definitely the cutest and the most real moment when it actually sinks in that you are finally married to the man you love. :)

Lootera - NOT A Review.

Ok, before you start wearing your Judgemental Hats, let me be very clear. I am NOT reviewing this film. I am simply writing about what I felt while watching the movie. So, now if you are still interested, you are welcome to read on further and hopefully with an open mind. :)

I know that the movie has received a lot of mixed reviews. Many have hated it while many have fallen in love with it. For me it took me back to my childhood.

Rule the World - Take That (Love This Song)

Was watching Stardust - the movie yesterday. Heard this song as the movie ended. It was beautiful. I could almost imagine singing it for him under a sky full of stars. Oh so beautiful it would be!

The song is "Rule The World" by Take That. Here are the lyrics:

You light, the skies up above me
A star, so bright you blind me
Don't close your eyes
Don't fade away
Don't fade away

Yeah you and me we can ride on a star
If you stay with me girl, we can rule the world
Yeah you and me we can light up the sky
If you stay by my side, we can rule the world.

If walls break down, I will comfort you
If angels cry, oh I'll be there for you
You've saved my soul
Don't leave me now
Don't leave me now

Yeah you and me we can ride on a star
If you stay with me girl, we can rule the world
Yeah you and me we can light up the sky
If you stay by my side, we can rule the world.

All the stars are coming out tonight
They're lighting up the sky tonight
For you
For you
All the stars are coming out tonight
They're lighting up the sky tonight
For you
For you,

Yeah you and me we can ride on a star
If you stay with me girl, we can rule the world
Yeah you and me we can light up the sky
If you stay by my side, we can rule the world.

All the stars are coming out tonight
They're lighting up the sky tonight
For you
For you
All the stars are coming out tonight
They're lighting up the sky tonight
For you
For you
[repeat]

Monsoon enters Mumbai - Happy or Sad?

Monsoon in Mumbai
Yesterday it rained yet again in Mumbai hence making it official that Monsoon has hit the city! Facebook posts, Tweets and BBM statuses were flooded with updates about the rains. Some were rejoicing while some were complaining.

This has always been the case with this city. The rains are either crazily loved or extremely hated. Why so?

First, let's see what makes us fall in love with this beautiful weather:
  • I love the fragrance of the wet soil during Monsoon.
  • I love getting drenched in the rain.
  • I love sitting at the beach watching it rain over the sea.
  • I love the clouds.
  • I love the weather, It becomes so romantic.
  • I love enjoying a 'Bhutta' when it rains.
  • I love playing football in the rains.

Now let's see why we absolutely hate Monsoons in Mumbai:
  • Traffic increases during Monsoons.
  • Hate getting drenched when I am about to go to a meeting or an interview.
  • The weather is unpredictable.
  • When it rains, it is pleasant. When it stops raining, it becomes humid!
  • Roads are so damaged during monsoons.
  • Streets start flooding even with the slightest of heavy rains.
  • There is mud and muck all over with garbage and drains overflowing.

Maybe we are born hypocrites. Or maybe it's just this season's fault.

Now I don't know about you, but I love rains and at the same time I love complaining about it as well! What about you? Do you have a Hate and Love Story with the rains too? Share your Monsoon Experiences with me. :)

What to Blog About?

One of the confusions I face is when I am trying to decide what to blog about next!
So what the heck! Here goes the list that goes on in my head:

  1. Hometown and the locals (1.22 Billion people, 28 states, 7 Union Territories and uncountable cities, suburbs and villages!)
  2. Fashion (This makes me want to go shopping!)
  3. Food (just hog!)
  4. Places to visit (or have already visited)
  5. Social Media (debate over the pros and cons)
  6. Society (crib about it)
  7. Politics (condemn it)
  8. Sports ( I don't follow... :-| )
  9. Love (Searching, Dating, Relationships, Break Ups, Patch Up..... you get the drift... )
  10. Movies (Reviews, actors, actresses, bitchiness, ego battles, page 3 parties, and so on)
  11. Health (how to stay fit, healthy food, exercises, etc.)
  12. Photography (Love it!)
  13. Human Behaviour (Interesting topic...)
  14. Emotions (Talk about the tears or the laughs)
  15. Observations (How much ever random they are)
What do you suggest? What topics should I talk about in my blog posts?

Street Photography - The Working Old Man

The Working Old Man
The Working Old Man

Spotted him at Purushwadi, Kasara..... He was quite old, yet so dedicated and focused on his work.

His competitors were all young chaps marketing their products while he sat there patiently, arranging the ropes, unaffected by all the chaos around him....

It's Your Choice

In life you will meet people who will lie, who will betray, break promises, cheat, hurt you physically, emotionally, plot against you, spread rumours about you, insult you, defeat you.

You could choose to hate them and blame them for ruining your life. Or you could be smart enough to do your personal best and extract all possible benefits from that very situation for yourself.

It's your choice to be sad because of someone else or be happy for yourself.

What is the purpose of emotions?

Sometimes I feel... Is this all worth it? This life full of gains and losses. One moment you are rich and the next moment you have nothing. All this laughing and crying. These emotions and attachments. Some say its a distraction. But is it really? Distraction from what? Or are we already distracted and need to bring our focus back to our emotions?

What is the purpose of emotions? The most common answer I got was "Emotions make us humans." But is that our goal? To become humans? Then why do we say that our end goal is to attain Nirvana? Nirvana means to attain that state where you no more need to take birth as a human and your soul can rest in peace. Am I right? I maybe wrong. Feel free to correct me.

But if our goal is to attain Nirvana, then why do we get so attached to our emotions, our human body which is temporary and this earth which too is a temporary home for us? Why do we feel that to earn and survive in this life is the most important tasks assigned to us?
